Observation, Planning and Assessment
It’s important that we keep records of your child’s learning and development. Your child will have a record book called a ‘Learning Journal’ in which we will keep observations, photographs of your child at play, planning sheets and a record of your child’s progress.
You can see your child’s Learning Journal at any time and we hope that you will also add comments or observations about what your child does at home. You will be given your child’s ‘Learning Journal’ when he / she leaves nursery and you may want to share this with your child’s teacher when he / she starts school.
Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) is mandatory for all schools and early years providers in Ofsted registered settings attended by young children from birth to the end of the academic year in which the child has their fifth birthday. The aim of the EYFS is to help children achieve the outcomes of staying safe, being healthy, enjoying and achieving, making a positive contribution and achieving wellbeing. It provides assurance that our nursery will keep your child safe and help them to thrive.
Ofsted (Office for Standards in Education, Children's Services and Skills) registered our nursery in early 2012 and inspected the nursery in October 2012.
